Fact: A pig’s orgasm can last for up to 30 minutes.
But I’m not talking about female pigs. It’s the men that get this particular perk.
The data for this particular fact comes from dedicated breeders using the “gloved hand method” to collect semen from prize boars. I am not going to spend valuable blog inches explaining what the gloved hand method involves but suffice to say its a procedure that most guys are probably familiar with.
Anecdotal evidence from these breeders suggests that ejaculation in pigs lasts on average about 5-10 minutes, but can in some animals extend to up to an incredible half an hour. That seems insane, although makes more sense when you realise that pigs produce half a litre of semen each time they ejaculate, compared to the paltry 2ml dished out by Homo sapiens over just a few seconds.
However, using the term ‘orgasm’ might be misleading, as there is a lot of dispute among biologists around whether animals have ‘sex for pleasure’ like humans do. Either way, it’s hard not to be a little bit jealous.
